ᴇNᴀBʟS connects with students and teachers at Hohenheim’s Research Taster poster presentation session
On 9th October, the ᴇNᴀBʟS KomBioTa team took part in the poster session of Forschungsschnuppern (“Research Taster”), a programme for first-year students at the University of Hohenheim. Held during their first week of studies, the programme introduces students to research through small projects – for example, on pollinators – which culminate in a poster session modelled on an academic conference.
The ᴇNᴀBʟS team presented its work to students and teachers and connected with other projects focused on sustainability. We had engaging discussions with students about what can be considered a Nature-Based Solution (NBS). With teachers, we discussed the challenges of developing new outdoor activities for secondary school students, including tightly packed curricula and educators’ limited knowledge of how to engage students in outdoor learning. To help address these challenges, we distributed the ᴇNᴀBʟS Teacher Training Guide and Modules, which equips educators with both fundamental NBS concepts and hands-on teaching materials.
