About this tool

How the ranking works. Each answer you give adds points to every resource: educational level and material type weigh most, then learning style, time and language. Resources that fit more of your answers rank higher, so you never get an empty list.

Collections rank higher. A collection is a whole repository of teaching material rather than a single item, so it usually gives you more to work with — collections get a bonus and are not penalised for covering several educational levels. Ask for a specific format and that bonus steps aside.

AI use disclosure

Purpose of use. Generative AI was used to help build this tool — generating and structuring its HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and drafting and editing the descriptive texts on this page and in the underlying resource collection.

Tool used. Claude (Anthropic), accessed via Claude Code, several versions across development in 2026.

Type of input provided. The resource collection spreadsheet (titles, descriptions and classification fields for openly licensed resources already published by their original sources), draft text, and this project’s own code. No unpublished research, personal data beyond publicly attributed resource authorship, or third-party copyrighted files were provided as input.

Data protection safeguards. Any personal data processed (e.g. publicly listed resource or project contributor names) is handled in accordance with the GDPR; no additional personal data was entered into the AI tool.

Human review. All text, code and resource entries were reviewed, checked and approved by Felix Köhler (University of Hohenheim, felix.koehler@mac.com) before publication. AI output was treated as a draft, never as a final decision. Labelled per the EU AI Act using the official EU icon set.
