EU-GREW and ᴇNᴀBʟS Collaboration

On 20 February 2026, representatives of the EU-GREW (The Green Wave) and ᴇNᴀBʟS projects met to discuss joint activities in Lithuania. During the meeting, much attention was paid to the creation of a living lab, the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) into practical activities, and the dissemination of this knowledge in the vocational training sector.

The EU-GREW project focuses on the priorities of the European Green Deal and aims to activate citizens and school communities through education to contribute to climate change solutions and the creation of a sustainable future. The project strengthens the competencies of educators, develops teaching resources, and organises living labs and national centres that promote environmental initiatives in local communities. One of the active partners in Lithuania is the Kaunas Technology Training Center, which helps to integrate sustainability and environmental protection topics into vocational training and strengthens students’ practical skills in applying ecological competencies in real-life situations.

The two projects naturally complement each other: EU-GREW strengthens civic awareness and the involvement of educational communities in green course objectives, while ᴇNᴀBʟS provides practical methods and experiential learning opportunities. This synergy is particularly important in the vocational education sector, where learning is based on practice, real environmental problems, and the direct application of solutions.

Upcoming Activity

On 26 March, specialists and students from the Kaunas Technology Training Centre are invited to participate in the educational programme seminar at the “Ką pasėsi 2026” exhibition, which will present the activities of ᴇNᴀBʟS’ Lithuanian Living Lab and enhance understanding of NBS. The project activities will also include practical visits to the VMU Arboretum, a living space where participants will be able to learn about the solutions applied and their practical application.

A sustainable future begins with knowledge, cooperation, and the courage to apply it in practice.
